Dies can be resharpened up to five times, so a die achieving 1 million revolutions before each resharpening will ultimately achieve 6 million revolutions during its total die life.
Each time the die is resharpened, cut quality is renewed to that of a new die. Resharpening generally costs about 20% as much as a new die.
